Fear vs Faith

It’s so easy to become afraid of the future and of stepping into the unknown.

FAITH VS fear

Book review #3: Your Invisible Power by Genevieve Behrend

Your Invisible Power is a highly insightful, highly dense book that covers the process of visualising and manifesting in a lot of detail. I would describe the book as an honest and concise guide to cultivating the right mindset for manifesting exactly what you want in your life.

Although it is merely 22 pages long, the depth of the explanations and concepts demanded more time that I had imagined to get through it all. In fact, I found myself rereading certain paragraphs many times over to completely understand specific ideas. I’m writing this review having read the book twice.

Solo travelling is for everyone

I’ve been on plenty of trips alone over the last few years. My first solo trip was to Amsterdam in the summer of 2014. I was very nervous to go on my own for a number of reasons. I didn’t know the city, I was a young woman – 19 years old at the time – and I had to be completely dependant on myself. Still, I was excited to test out solo travelling and see if it was as good as what I’d heard and read online.

I was in Amsterdam for about 4 days and the entire experience surpassed my greatest expectations. Since then I’ve been on a number of solo trips and even moved abroad for 7 months last year.

Solo travelling has honestly been one of the biggest blessings in my life, so here’s why I think you should give it a try.

2019 will exceed all expectations

HAPPY NEW YEAR! WOOHOO! WE MADE IT!

I really feel it in my core that 2019 is going to be crazy incredible. Looking back on the last year, regardless of what happened around me, I always felt pretty good.

So, looking ahead now at this fresh start and new perspective, I’ve got 6 specific goals that I’ll be working on in 2019 to push myself further. Here we go!

  1. Set quarterly and monthly goals and review them daily.
  2. Keep a health journal
  3. Practice self-care
  4. Maintain a positive and optimistic attitude
  5. Learn Dinka
  6. Read a book per week

So what were my main objectives in 2018? Did I succeed or did I fail? Here’s my honest reflection on my goals for the year.

In 2018 I wanted to:

2. Take weekly dance classes

3. Travel outside of Europe at least once

4. Develop my spirituality and faith

5. Be open, positive and optimistic

Reading my old blog posts

I’ve been reading some of the entries from my beginner days on WordPress way back in early 2015. I created my blog to talk about my goals and share my journey with absolutely anyone who’d care to listen!

In my earlier posts I was mostly focussing on getting into drama school and preparing for a solid career as an actor. Four years later, so much has happened in my life and so much has changed: some downs, but many, many, many more ups. Thankfully.

I’m so proud to say that my fighting spirit hasn’t left me. I’m still advancing in my acting career and my self-belief has never been stronger. Continue reading

Becoming an effective life coach

Last weekend I had a practical training day with The Coaching Academy as part of my diploma. As always, it was a good chance to mingle with other students and polish up my skills.

However, one thing I’m focussing on now is getting coached.

Getting coached means that I can learn about other ways of coaching, techniques that I wouldn’t necessarily learn as part of my diploma. Each new coach offers his/her own method which I can decide to implement with my own clients. And of course, I can let go of things that don’t resonate with me.

My Mastermind Group

I created a Mastermind Group recently which includes myself and two of my good friends who are also actors. The purpose of the group is for us to share tips and advice on the acting industry as well as stuff on motivation, money and personal development.

Our Mastermind Group has a WhatsApp conversation where we talk ideas, knowledge and share what we learn daily. We like to post motivational videos from YouTube, discuss new movies and plays, recommend articles and blog posts, and networking opportunities and events.

A new perspective

I took me some weeks to finally write this post because the experience has been both frustrating and embarrassing.

April had been quite a tough month because I was struggling with my work at school and I felt like i just wasn’t getting anything right. In my acting classes we’ve been working on classical french plays (by Racine and Corneille) and we’re having public performances towards the end of June.

Morning Pages

I’ve recently started this new thing called ‘Morning Pages’. Basically, the first thing I do after my alarm rings is write. I write and write until I’ve filled three whole pages in my notebook.

The purpose of the ‘Morning Pages’ is to provide some clarity, encourage you to be honest with yourself and unblock your creativity. I quite like writing every morning now because: I’m able to address issues that I would otherwise ignore Continue reading
